Express Entry

The Federal Government of Canada in 2015 introduced a new type of Visa system called Express Entry. It is an application management system that governs all the economic immigration streams of Canada. Since there are many PNPs to select from, the candidates become confused which PNP they qualify for and what are the eligibility requirements.  Eligible candidates for PNPs usually fall in one of the below mentioned categories:

  1. Recent Experience of working in Canada
  1. Working on a valid work permit
  1. Currently in the Canada Express Entry pool and meet criteria set for at least one program.
  1. Have studied, worked, or had a formal job offer in the province.
  1. Family members live in the province in question.

Quebec Immigration

Though Quebec is also a province, Canada has given it more autonomy than other areas on how it runs its policies and immigration programs. Since there are no Quebec Immigration streams yet aligned with Express Entry, you will have to apply directly to the Quebec Government for a Quebec Skilled Worker Program, Quebec Business Immigration, or the Quebec Experience Class.  If your application is accepted, you will be issued a CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate.

And once you receive the certificate, you will have to submit an application to the Federal Government for review just to ensure that you are not criminally or medically inadmissible to the country.
